Object Description
A pair of unusually large William IV mustard pots with a contemporary pair of Indian colonial spoons by Matthies & Barron of Bombay.
These rare and large pots are gloriously decorated with shells, leaves and flowers and stand on three decorative hoof feet.
Pairs of mustard pots of this size are rare, and as the spoons are Indian colonial, probably a special order for an English Army mess table or for a wealthy English family living in India.
It is reasonably common to see salt cellars of this size but rare to see mustard pots.
Dimensions: width (from side to handle) 13 cm, diameter 9.1 cm, weight 17 troy oz.
