Object Description

Circa 1835. A good pair of William IV mahogany and leather upholstered library chairs. The shaped and curved cresting rail is supported with two reeded and scrolling uprights with a simple curved rail towards the base, with deep buttoned and pleated leather upholstered seats in faded burgundy, held in place with leather covered studs and piping. Beneath the upholstered seat there is a simple curved beading, the square back legs are shaped and taper tapering, the front legs are ring turned bulbous, tapering, and finishing on a simple turned toe.
