Object Description

Pair of Staffordshire pearlware busts with a theatrical and literary theme which feature Voltaire (Jean Francois Marie Arouet) & Jean-Jacques Rousseau, resting on a plinth base. The pieces are titled, ‘ROUSSEAU and ‘VOLTAIRE’ to the reverse base edges. Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated ‘in the round’ – decoration to front and reverse. Open bottomed.

Object Condition

Good. Any damage, wear, original manufacturing defects (kiln effects) or restoration that may be present, is minor and not detracting.
