Object Description

Pair of Staffordshire figures with a maritime theme which feature a sailor holding a mug of ale, stood on a circular base. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Object Condition

Right facing: Generally good. Flake to base edge, not visible when standing upright. Some rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing; staining to the base. RESTORATION. Filled chip to his nose. Retouched flakes to left sleeve and both hands. Retouched paint losses. Left facing: Generally good. Slight rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to his right arm at the reverse. RESTORATION. Filled chip to his hat. Retouched paint losses.
