Object Description

Pair of Staffordshire Pottery jug/pitchers which feature a spaniel with a bow, seated directly on the ground, no base. Russet and white version. Bright gilt embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front. Maker’s marks painted to the underside. Book reference ,’Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875′ Book 2, by A.& N. Harding, page 200, figure 2591/2592.

Object Condition

Right facing: Good. Some rubbing to gilt. Slight wear to the rim. RESTORATION. Minor retouched paint losses paws and face. Left facing: Good. Some rubbing to gilt. Slight wear to the rim. KILN EFFECTS: over glazed crack to reverse, near the bottom. RESTORATION. Minor retouched paint losses markings and face.
