Object Description
Phillips Brothers & Son diamond and enamel memorial ring, circa 1872. Set with twenty cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.10 carats, to a marquise shape memorial ring featuring a central glass topped compartment with intricately braided hair inside, a decorative gallery with graduating circular motifs, and open backholing, leading to tapering chamfered shoulders with black and white enamel details, flowing through to a solid shank. Tested yellow gold, engraved to interior ‘AMY PLEWS. B. 11. JANY 1860. D. 16 AUGT 1872., maker’s mark for Phillips Brothers & Son, English, circa 1872.
