Object Description

Circa 1930s. A profusely inlaid Syrian games table. The rectangular top with multiple inlays in various woods and mother of pearl. The top is hinged and opens to reveal an interior with a lift out chess and card-board, which folds neatly and sits in the middle, when this is removed there is a backgammon board set into the top. On each side of the playing surfaces there are multiple inlays as in the frieze. The frieze is inlaid on all sides, and the table rests on four cabriole legs which are also profusely inlaid.
