Object Description

Pyriform in shape, this vessel has a large, bulbous body. It gives way to a thin and slightly flaring rim and one end, whilst the other tapers into a flat base. During this period pottery finishing techniques improved: potters used a remarkable amount of red slip, applied by hand and smoothed with an irregular burnish.

Date: Circa 3rd-1st Millennium BC
