Circa 1840. A quality Biedermeier mahogany desk. The top with raised back with a bank of 9 drawers each, some with knob handles, all the drawers have flame mahogany facings. The flat writing surface with original leather writing insert, to the sides there are two pull out slides with leather inserts, too. The front has a configuration of one long drawer flanked by a pair of shorter drawers, each drawer with stylish brass escutcheon, with ribbed foredges, the desk rests on four elegant turned, ring turned fluted and tapering legs.
