Object Description

This superb early George III silver coffee pot was made in London in 1764 by Fuller White, it measures just over 11 inches tall by 8.5 inches handle to spout and is 4.5 inches in dia across the base, the original embossed design of roses, rose hips, sunflower and foliage run around the bottom half of the pot with a further band of flowers and foliage just below the top border with the hinged lid having the same theme with a large cast acanthus leaf finial. The curved, cast spout has a lovely acanthus leaf and shell design below the spout with drop detailing where it attaches to the body, there is a cast shell fitting to the top of the scrolled wooden handle with a double scroll handle at the base, it is fully and clearly hallmarked to the side and with the makers mark under the base and also to the lid rim with the lion passant and makers mark. A beautiful heavy pot with good definition and in super condition weighing 30.75 ounces or 957 grams.
