Object Description
Circa 1900. A quality mahogany chest on chest by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh. The solid top with moulded edge, concave section with carving in the center and on the sides. The front has a configuration of four graduating drawers, each has book matched flame mahogany facings and stylish ‘Lorimeresque’ brass handles with stylish back plates. Beneath the fourth drawer there is a further carved section of acorns and leaves, the base has two full length drawers with similar handles, beneath the bottom drawer there is shaped frieze and the chest on chest stands on typical ‘Lorimeresque’ feet.
