Object Description
This quality set of 3 crested George III butter shells were made in London in 1807 by John Emes and measure 4.5 inches top to bottom and 4.25 inches wide, they are fashioned as scallop shells and are crested to the backs with a talbot below a crown, they each stand on 2 round feet and are fully and clearly hallmarked to the back. A lovely set of shells in very good condition weighing 8.10 ounces or 255 grams.
