Object Description
A Queen Anne period burr Walnut, crossbanded and feather banded Bureau Bookcase, the broken arch moulded pediment with a replaced carved gilt flame finial above a single mirrored door, the plate within a carved gilt border flanked by fluted and stop fluted pilasters and opening to reveal two adjustable shelves above a central cupboard door flanked by stop-fluted pilasters and pigeon holes above a pair of drawers and a pull out candle stand, the fall with a book rest and enclosing a leather lined writing surface, a central pigeon hole flanked by stop-fluted pilasters and a pigeon hole and small drawers, the base with two half width and two full width drawers, the whole raised on bun feet.
This superb cabinet is fitted with several secret compartments.
