Object Description
A finely shaped, rare burr and figured elm French Louis XV commode dating to the mid 18th century, of good colour.
French Circa 1750-60.
Of excellent proportions having a highly figured and burr elm serpentine fronted top over three shaped solid elm panelled front and oak lined drawers with central brass escutcheons.
The shaped and panelled sides with front tapering supports united by a serpentine apron terminating on hoof feet.
A rare model being of such quality solid elm and one of the best bombe shapes we have seen, much inspired by the taste of Louis XV.
Of good colour this French burr elm commode is in excellent condition and supplied with three working keys.
