Object Description

An Extremely Attractive And Exceptional Quality, Late 18th Century, George III Period Card Table Of Rectangular Form, Having Superb Amboyna Veneers Throughout, With Satinwood Crossbanding To Foldover Top Enclosing Baized Interior, Raised On Elegant Square Tapering Legs.

A relatively typical card table of the period in terms of its form and function, however there is one huge difference to the norm. This table is fantastic quality throughout and boasts the most beautiful amobyna wood veneered which make it incredibly decorative as well as functional.

It has clearly been produced by one of the best workshops of the time as amboyna, which was mainly found growing in the asia and pacific regions, was incredibly expensive to purchase as a raw material and there is certainly no expense spared here in terms of its use, even the back is veneered with amboyna.

This table could be used anywhere around the home, as a card or games table like it was originally created for, or indeed as a simple side or console table. The possibilities are endless.

Overall the condition is good and as with all items which we offer for sale it has received a natural wax polish by our highly skilled, traditional antique furniture restorers, meaning that it is ready to be immediately placed.
