Object Description
This rare James I silver lion sejant spoon was made in London in 1609 be William Cawdell and measures 6.75 inches in length, it is fully and clearly hallmarked to the back of the stem where it also has the incised initials of IC, it has the engraved initials of L over WA to the back of the bowl with the crowned leopards head stamped inside the bowl, the bowl itself is well formed with very little edge wear and the lion sejant is well defined, a nice rare spoon in very good condition weighing 1.40 ounces or 43 grams.
