Object Description
This rare Provincial William & Mary silver lace back trefid spoon was made in the West country C1693 and is the partner to the spoon featured in Kents book on Page 166 (Wedding spoons would have been made in pairs) and is made by Samuel Dell. It measures 7.5 inches long and has a rat tail to the back of the bowl and lacing to the front of the stem and the back of the bowl and is marked to the back of the stem with the makers mark struck twice and there is also pin prick engraving to the back of the stem of W*M 1693 DM with a flower below. The bowl is nicely formed and it is in good condition and has good provenance.
