Object Description
Rare silver asparagus tongs made by William Whitwell and James Barber in York. Hallmarked in 1818 carrying a good set of clear hallmarks. The tongs are in very good order, the bow is not strained or damaged in any way and the mechanism works well. These are the first set of York silver asparagus tongs we have seen.
