An Exceptional Quality Late 19th Century, l, Mahogany, Satinwood & Harewood Rectangular Kettle Stand, Or Urn Stand, Having Profuse Inlaid Decoration To Attractive Top With Candle Slide, Raised On Four Square Tapered Legs, Headed By Brass Moulded Collars, United By Cross Stretcher.
This exceptionally attractive and very good quality little table is of a design which we have come across numerous times before. always with a slight variation in design, style, shape or inlaid decoration. However the ones which bost this particular inlaid design are always of exceptional quality and are often quoted as being made by Edwards & Roberts.
In terms of the original purpose it is difficult to be certain of this as some people refer to them as urn stands, other people as kettle stands and other people still just as occasional tables. Of course it doesn’t really matter what their original purpose was, more important is that they are an incredibly useful, functional, elegant and beuatiful piece of furniture for the modern home which could be used in a whole variety of different spots.
As with all items which we offer for sale this item has been inspected and attended to by our specialist, highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers in their workshops, where it has received a clean bill of health and a natural wax polish to ensure it is ready for immediate placement within the home after purchase.
