Object Description

An Exceptional Quality Early 19th Century, Regency Period, Mahogany Dressing Table, Or Kneehole Desk, Having Superbly Figured Shaped Top With Attractive Crossbanded Decoration, Over Shaped Front With Concave Centre, Incorporating 5 Drawers And Concealed Cupboard Door, Having Replacement Brass Handles, Flanked By Four Elegant Turned Columns With Attractive Reeded Decoration, Terminating On Fine Turned Tapering Feet. 

This fine quality piece of furniture boasts a great combination of elegance, form and function. It is constructed from high quality mahogany timbers and based on the quality of construction it has clearly been made in one of the top cabinet making workshops of the Georgian period, possibly even Gillows themselves.

The overall condition is excellent, clearly it has been well loved and looked after as well as being well used. The brass handles are replacements but sit very nicely indeed on th piece and are very much in the correct style for the original period. 

Perfect for a whole variety of different spaces and functions this is a really versatile piece of furniture and something which would fit brilliantly into any home. 

As with all of our objects it has been inspected and attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers, as well as receiving a natural wax polish, to ensure it is ready for immediate placement after purchase.
