Object Description

A Good Quality And Attractive Early 19th Century, Georgian Regency Period, Mahogany Luggage Stand Having Unusual Slanted Supports To Slatted Top, Raised On Ring Turned & Tapering Legs.

Luggage stands of varying shapes and sizes have been popular almost since time began, well certainly since cases and trunks were invented anyway and its obvious why.

It is rare to come across these now, probably because so many of them have broken following many years of use and abuse. Indeed they are generally pretty sought after. This is constructed from good quality, rich, nahogany timber and very well put together in a cabinet making and quality sense.

It remains in good condition, retaining a good worn surface as one would expect from a practical item of furniture of this age and it is very much sturdy, plus fit for original purpose. Certainly there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that this could not be purchased and placed straight into a bedroom with the intention of it regularly bearing the load of various types of luggage.

As with all the items which we offer for sale, this regency luggage stand has been attended to in the traditional manner at our workshop before being offered for sale, by our highly skilled and well trained antique furniture restorers including a light clean and natural wax polish to ensure that it is in good retail condition and ready to be placed immediately into the home.
