Object Description
An Extremely Good Quality Regency Period Mahogany Side Cupboard, Of Unusual Bold Proportion, Having Rectangular Top Over Central Panelled Door Surrounded By One Long Drawer, Two Short Drawers And Two Double Drawers, With Replacement Brass Handles, Flanked By Elegant Ribbed Canted Corners Terminating On Original Turned Feet.
This fine quality early 19th century regency period mahogany side cupboard is relatively unusual in form having the central set cupboard surrounded by drawers. However it is certainly incredibly functional, with a wide variety of drawer sizes and depths, as well of course as the central cupboard.
It is constructed from good quality mahogany timbers, which have retained an excellent colour and for something which is relatively large and chunky it actually has some real elegance to it.
The brass knobs are later replacements, which is very common and originally it would probably have started life with turned wooden knobs. The turned feet however are original.
As with all items which we offer for sale this cupboard has been inspected in our workshops by our highly skilled, well trained, traditional antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish to ensure it is in its best condition possible before being offered for sale, meaning it is ready for immediate placement within the home or office.
