Object Description
A fine quality English Regency period brass inlaid side table, with a hinged reading / writing slope, compartments opening to the sides for writing and drawing implements, a pleated box beneath for sowing storage. Having wonderful triform end supports, each with scrolling brass inlay, and raised on scrolling foliate ormolu feet. In the manner of John McClean. John McLean (born 1770; died 1825) was an English furniture and cabinetry maker and designer. He was recognized as one of the best of his era, representing the best in English cabinetmaking.
