Object Description

A Charming And Very Good Quality 19th Century Regency Period Rosewood Jewellery Box Having Polychrome Painted Panel Decoration To Top Over One Fitted Drawer Retaining Original Brass Lions Mask Handles Raised On Original Brass Paw Feet.

This lovely quality and elegant Regency period jewellery box really is a little gem.

It has been constructed from good quality and well figured rosewood veneers which retain a good colour and patina. The polychrome painted panel to the top is sadly a little worse for wear in terms of ageing, however it is still a very nice feature and certainly the wear to this does not detract from the overall look and feel of the piece as hopefully the images show.

There is a good size main compartment enclosed within the hinged lid and also a nicely divided drawer below that.

As previously mentioned both the little brass handles to the sides and the beautiful little brass paw feet are also original which also both add elegance to the piece.

It is just the right size to sit on a dressing table, or bedside table and store your day to day jewellery inside whilst also getting to look at a beautiful item in its own right each and every day.

Circa 1830.

Height 7.25in.
Width 11in.
