Regency rosewood sofa table.

Object Description

A fine Regency rosewood sofa table, the well figured top crossbanded in sabicu with ebony stringing , above two drawers(dummies on the reverse side) with ebony and boxwood stringing which retain their original turned decorated knobs, all supported by a base with swept “hockey stick” ends with brass castors , united by a turned ebonised centre stretcher with gilded decoration.

Object Condition

An elegant table with a band of ebony stringing to the edge all round, good original colour and patina , in fine condition throughout with no warps on the top or drop leaves . The table measures 60 x 27 ins with the leaves up and can be used as a sofa/writing/centre or even dressing table.
