Renaissance style gilt bronze and enamel mantel clock

This exquisite mantel clock is crafted in the idiosyncratic Renaissance Revival style that found its fullest expression in the latter 19th Century. The clock is superb example of the type. The finely cast gilt bronze structure with profuse architectural and floral motifs, together with three cherub figures. Inset throughout with colourful champlevé enamel panels with richly detailed geometric floral patterns. The champlevé dial inset into the front panel with a circular gilt bronze border and Roman numerals. The movement stamped ‘H.P. & Co’ and numbered.
