Object Description
Circa 1890. An unusual Charles II style carved walnut and gilded stool. The rectangular shaped stool with a stuff-over upholstered seat, resting on four elaborate cabriole legs with gilded foliate carving on the facings intersected by a pierced seat rail (front & back) with carved rondels and foliate carving with a mixture of piercing, gilding and carving. The legs are intersected by four elegant shaped stretchers with foliate carving, with a wonderful foliate finial to the center.
