This beautiful clock set includes a mantel clock and a charming pair of flanking ewers. The set is crafted from exceptional Sèvres style porcelain and fine gilt bronze mounts.
The mantel clock features a plinth form body with rounded sides raised above a flared base. The gilt bronze frame of the clock is inset with wonderful porcelain panels: the front panel, over a light blue ground and framed by a gilt cartouche, depicts a young courting couple in the Rococo style; the side panels depict landscape scenes, each executed in a conforming manner and style. The case is inset to the front with a large circular porcelain dial and is surmounted by a gilt bronze mounted porcelain vase-form finial.
The ewers are similarly decorated, each featuring an ovoid body painted with similar scenes and equally fine gilt bronze mounts.
