Roman Amber Glass Hexagonal Flask

Object Description

A Roman mould-blown flask from amber coloured glass. The vessel features a slightly uneven circular base with an ellipsoid body which tapers in to a thin, cylindrical neck leading to an everted, thick rim. The flask is enriched with six panels, each separated by columns and display different vessels including a jug or hydria.

Date: Circa 1st century AD

Object Condition

Very fine condition, air bubbles are visible in the glass from during the blowing process. Minor iridescence to the surface.
