Object Description

A small Roman jug blown from aubergine glass. The vessel features a piriform shape tapering in to a short, cylindrical neck with a flaring mouth. The jug sits upon a concave foot with a folded rim. A single, ribbed handle has been attached from the rim to the body. A horizontal band of trailing has been applied below the rim and on the shoulder.

Date: Circa 4th century AD

Object Condition

Excellent condition, minor iridescence and encrustation to the surface as consistent with age.
