Object Description

An Ancient Roman bronze knee fibula composed of a sharp arched bow terminating into a large bulging head. This is connected to a perpendicular bar, which holds the original spring and the pin. To the back, the fibula features the original catch plate, a rectangular section which extends downwards and curls at the base. Silver detailing is visible to the bar, head and foot.

Date: Circa late 2nd century AD

Object Condition

Very fine condition. Patination to the surface consistent with age. The pin now sits in the catch-plate, unable to move.
