Object Description

An extremely fine Ancient Roman solid cast bronze statuette of the goddess Diana in the round. The deity is portrayed in her usual outfit, consisting of a loose-fitting, knee-length chiton belted under her chest and tall open-toed footwear. Her hair is arranged in an elaborate knot on top of her head. She is standing in a contrapposto pose with most of her weight placed on her right leg, as if stepping forward. Her right hand, presumably originally holding a bow, is extended in front of her, while her left hand is reaching back towards the quiver she’s wearing. Anatomical details, facial features, together with the folds of Diana’s garment, and hair have been finely rendered.

Please check the dimensions provided below. Please note, the figurine can not stand unaided.
