Object Description
A finely cast Roman bronze brooch which has been shaped into a stylised, swimming duck. It features a flat, fan-shaped body with a raised, slender neck and tapering head. A flat triangular tail and a chain loop have been added to the end. The body presents three cells decorated with enamelling: the middle cell is filled with vibrant orange enamel whilst the cells on either side display alternating turquoise and green enamel. The tail is enriched with two triangular cells of green enamel. There is a hinge on the reverse, holding the original pin, and a triangular catch plate.
