Roman Bronze Phallic Pendant

Object Description

An ancient Roman phallic amulet, made of bronze. The amulet features a rounded bronze body, moulded into the shape of a phallus at one end. The other end depicts two rounded protrusions, set off-centre and likely depicting the testes. There is a large suspension loop at the top.

Date: Circa 1st – 3rd century AD

Object Condition

Good Condition. Patina and earthly encrustations to the surface. Signs of wear as consistent with age, such as minor chips to the surface.
