An ancient Roman, bronze, propeller-shaped, belt stiffener. The belt fitting consists of a pair of triangles, flanking a central boss. Both the boss and triangular sides have singular perforations for fixation.
Date: Circa 4th – 5th century AD
Ex Wiltshire collection, acquired 1980s-2000s.
Good condition.Large areas of patination. Fixtures now missing. Some tarnishing and chipping to the edges.
