Object Description

A fine Roman jug blown from translucent green glass. The vessel features a squat globular body which sits upon a slightly concave base. The shoulders taper into a long cylindrical neck with a wide out-splayed rim that has been folded into a decorative trefoil shape. This design was used for better control over the distribution of liquids that it contained. A single handle of the same colour has been attached from the shoulder to the rim. The body is enriched with seven dimples.
