Object Description

A small Roman lentoid flask mold-blown from slightly translucent aubergine glass. The vessel features a flat circular body with a rounded base, which tapers in to a cylindrical neck and an out-splayed mouth. Two handles have been applied from the upper neck to the shoulder. The body is enriched with a central rosette with eight petals bordered with concentric circles. The design is mirrored on the reverse. A mold seam can be viewed along the edge of the body. This flask is mounted on a custom-made stand.

Object Condition

Excellent condition, slight iridescence and encrustation visible. Measurements of the flask itself: 7.5cm height, 5.4cm width.
