Object Description
A Roman terracotta moldmade oil lamp with a decorated discus and a ring handle. A raised ridge encircles the discus and extends towards the rounded nozzle hole, forming a broad canal. The discus is enriched with a sixteen-petal rosette. A filling hole is at the centre of the rosette and a smaller air hole at the base. The shoulder displays a reoccurring pattern of alternating dots and lines. The oil lamp sits on a flat base encompassed by two circular grooves.
