Object Description
A fine articulated Romano-Egyptian mosaic glass fragment displaying a richly coloured peacock-eye motif, which likely originated from a larger tile or vessel. Canes of opaque yellow-green, golden brown, azure blue and vermillion red have been fused to produce a complex geometric motif which appears as enticing pools of polychromy. This same design can be witnessed upon the trapezoidal fragment’s reverse when removed from its customised display stand, which accompanies this piece.
