Object Description

A polychromatic Romano-Egyptian fragment of millefiori glass, featuring a floral motif. The glass features a dark, opaque purple background and is interspersed with varying shades of green, yellow and white. To the centre is a large floral motif, formed from an olive-green circle, surrounded by a yellow band and purple dot motif. Tendrils of yellow glass fall from the bottom of the circle, completing the floral element.

Date: Circa 1st century BC – 1st century AD
Period: Roman Period

Object Condition

Very fine. Signs of wear as consistent with age, such as scratches and earthly encrustations.
