Object Description
Ruby and diamond tassle earrings. A matching pair of earrings, each set with ten square and triangular step cut natural unenhanced rubies, all twenty in open back rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 4.00 carats, further set with sixteen round old cut diamonds, all thirty two in open back rubover millegrain settings with a combined weight of 3.10 carats and forty round eight cut diamonds, all eighty in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 3.40 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 6.50 carats, to an ornate openwork bombé surmount suspending five fully articulated pendant drops, with pierced galleries and fancy shape backholing, set to reverse with a secure post and screw disc, approximately 4.1cm in length. Marked yellow gold and platinum, French control marks, circa 1920.
