Object Description
Ruby, sapphire and diamond set snake cufflinks. A matching double sided pair, composed of two twisted circular openwork snake motifs, one pair set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced ruby in an open back gypsy collet setting with an approximate weight of 0.15 carats, the other pair set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back gypsy collet setting with an approximate weight of 0.15 carats, to the head of the snakes, and both pairs set with an opposing snake head motif set with a cushion shape old cut diamond in an open back gypsy collet setting, the two with an approximate combined weight of 0.20 carats, and further set with eight round cabochon natural unenhanced rubies in open back collet settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.08 carats, to the eyes of the snake heads, fitted to reverse with secure cable chains. Tested platinum, French control marks, circa 1920.
