The collection of Miss E.J. Bath, a personal friend of the artist.
Miss Bath lived opposite Caley Farm in Norfolk, where Munnings was a regular visitor. Caley Farm was owned by a friend of Munnings, Horace Callaby, who established a highly successful indoor riding school and guesthouse there. Patrons included a host of famous names from the worlds of showbiz, sport and royalty and Munnings, too, became a familiar face there, often paying for his board and lodgings with paintings and drawings. Miss Bath accompanied Munnings on many of his visits and this was one of several sketches she purchased from him.
