Object Description

A late 19th century elm diver’s chest with brass top and copper banding, top with badges of Siebe Gorman and C. E. Heinke submarine engineers, and brass oval plate for the ship Zemindar of Liverpool, 1885.

Width: 87 cm.

Depth: 43.5 cm.

Height: 46 cm.

The iron hull sailing ship S.V. Zemindar was built by Harland & Wolff of Belfast in 1885.
