Object Description

A fine pair of Scottish antique Victorian sterling silver menu/place card holders which have been designed with foxes on the front and the motto of the Todd family below. The motto reads “oportet vivere” which roughly translated, means “one must live”. These impressive silver menu holders have a section at the rear to house the card and a stand for support. Tod is another name for a fox and it is fitting that the Todd family have adopted a fox for their motto. These menu holders would make desirable additions to a collection. They remain in excellent condition.
