Object Description

A fine selection of Hoi An porcelain serving dishes, each displaying a composite flower medallion painted in dark blue pigment to the centre. Overlapping lotus petals decorate the reverse of the dishes and surround the brown-washed bases.

Date: Late 15th century – early 16th century

Object History

From the Hoi An shipwreck, sank in the late 15th-early 16th century AD (approximately 1490). Recovered in the early 1990’s.

Object Condition

Fine condition. Dulling of glazed surfaces due to seawater exposure.
