Very good quality and rare set of twelve (10 + 2) antique walnut dining chairs with leather upholstered drop in seats dating to circa 1910-1920’s.
Constructed in a Queen Anne design this quality set of dining chairs comprise of ten single chairs with two carver chairs.
The shaped and carved walnut top rail sitting over a vase shaped splat having acanthus leaf carved edge above a drop in leather upholstered squab seat.
Raised on wonderful hand carved cabriole legs terminating on ball and claw feet with rear swept legs. The carvers having shepherds crook arms finished with a carved foliate relief to the front.
This set of 12 antiques dining chairs are in excellent condition having been wax polished using traditional methods and with no loose joints. The leather squab seats are in excellent condition having been recently reupholstered in a tan leather.
A very well designed and good quality set of walnut dining chairs that are very rare being a set of twelve.
