Object Description
Set of 15 early 19th century Danish silver plates by Franciscus Kozlowsky
Danish, 1807
Height 2cm, diameter 24cm
Crafted by the Danish silversmith, Franciscus Kozlowsky (1761-1847), the set includes 15 superb silver plates.
Each plate is adorned with a lobed profiled border and is engraved with three crests. The crests could possibly be of the families the plates were originally crafted for.
The reverse of the plates features the maker’s mark alongside other hallmarks such as one for Copenhagen 1807. They are also pricked with the weight.
Of a wonderful, elegant design, this set of plates would be a stunning addition to one’s dinner table setting.
Together all pieces weigh approximately 8,400 grammes.
