Object Description

Set of three Holdcroft Majolica jug/pitchers which feature game birds and hares. Turquoise ground version. Colouration: green, brown, turquoise, are predominant.

Object Condition

Large: Good. No restoration. Tight hairline to rim. Bruise to underside base edge. Some flaking to rim. Slight wear to top of handle. KILN EFFECTS: a few small firing holes to interior and exterior. Medium: Good. No restoration. Small chip to underside base edge. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to one bird; slight brown glaze run. Small: Good. Slight wear to handle. KILN EFFECTS: small firing hole to one bird; some brown glaze run. RESTORATION: stabilised and retouched cracks to spout.
