Object Description
These 3 Victorian cast iron door pediments or overdoors date from the late 19th century and were previously privately owned, sourced from an English home. A rare set of 3, each is of a matching design with a painted simulated wood finish, centring around a mask among scrolls and foliage in a neoclassical style manner.
Designed to sit above doors and entryways, ornate pediments like these added distinction and grandeur to doorways in times gone by. These can be used in the same way today, complementing the period style of a prestigious Victorian property, or styled simply as historical wall decoration.
Inscribed with model name ‘The Shah’ and number to the reverse.
